How Weight Loss Surgery can Weaken Your Bones?

According to a study, surgery done for weight loss can weaken the bones and increase the risk of fracture.  A study published in Journal, JBMR Plus, states that the structure of bones changes after the surgery done for weight loss. This change does not stop despite surgery, despite the stability of the weight after surgery.

Annie Shafer of the University of California at San Francisco, USA, said  “The current medical guidelines have clarity on bone health but most recommendations are based on low level evidence or experts opinion.”
