Vaccination Campaign Program In India

Vaccination campaign  program has started in India. It is started on 21 June 2021. According to reports, the world’s fastest- running program has started in India. In this program, central government will buy 75% vaccine from vaccine production companies and will give free to state governments.

A senior minister of the Union Health Ministry said that there is no dearth of vaccine availability in this phase and the state governments are also fully prepared to introduce more and more vaccine.

Data of Vaccination Campaign

The government of India has so far provided more than 24 crore free vaccine doses to the States/UTs through  direct procurement facility by the states. According to reports, as per the data available till 8 am today, 23,47,43,489 doses including perishable doses have been consumed out of these doses. 1.19 crore still to be deployed with states and union territories.

On seeing the increased availability of vaccines, vaccination boom expected to continue. Government target to give one crore vaccine per day.

Vaccine program for the people above 18 years was started on 1 May. But this vaccination program became slow instead of being fast. That’s why, on 7th June, Prime minister Narendra Modi had announced free vaccine to the people above 18 years of age from 21 June by focusing on vaccination.

According to the available data on COWIN PORTAL , 84,07,420  doses of anti- corona vaccine were given on 21st June till 10pm. These vaccine were given on 65,984 government and 2,077 private vaccination centre. In this time 78,02,058 people were registered for vaccine.

On successful vaccine in 21 June, Prime minister Narendra modi said, “It’s happy to see record break vaccination. Vaccine is the strongest weapon against COVID- 19. Congratulation to those who vaccinated and congratulation to those frontline warriors too who ensured that so many people were vaccinated.
