Researchers have discovered more than 100 epigenetic biomarkers in mothers who give birth to babies prematurely. It is entirely different from mothers who have completed pregnancy. Not only this but some such biomarkers have also been found in the father, which has proved to be essential to indicate the risks of premature birth.

According to Skinner, the researchers also found that girls born prematurely also had more than 100 of those biomarkers, indicating that it could be passed on to the next generation. In this, 21 models were from the children born prematurely and their parents, and 21 pieces were from the group of children born at the right time. In epigenetic analysis, it was found that biomarkers were present in the girls born prematurely along with their parents. But this was not the case in the boys born prematurely.
