One day he saw that his wife is hiding something from him. He asked lots of time that what are you hiding. But his wife did not tell him. After putting lots of effort he saw, she had a nasty rag cloth. He felt this is unhygienic method during periods. So he went to shop to purchase sanitary pad to impress his wife. It was the first time when he saw that pad and touched it. That time cost of sanitary pad was much more. So he decided to make local sanitary napkin for his wife.

He made it in 2 days and went to lab to check its accuracy.He had need women volunteer to test it so he offered to his wife. She used it but due to uncomfortable avoided it. He offered it to medical college girl but refused. One day he decided to use on own self. He collected some animal blood in football bottle and wore it that tube was connected with his panties. And while walking and cycling he used to press that ball to leak blood drop. He realized that my pad is not like other company.

Again he wasted lots of time in continuous research. Due to his habit one day his wife gave him divorce notice. He left her and spent more time in his research. After 2 year he found that how MNCs made a napkin using cellulose fibers derived from pine tree wood pulp.

In next 4 year 2006 he made a machine that manufactured 50% cheaper napkin than other company. After getting this success he sent his machine in IIT to evaluate. He got success and every gave complement.
After that lots of MNCs offered him to start business with them. but he never sold his product to earn more money.he decided to use his research in rural India. This decision was taken due to using sanitary napkin only by 12% women,the rest were using rag cloth

He wanted to provide job to women by this research. Today 877 brands around in 27 states of India and other 17 countries are using his machine to make napkin. After 5 years, his wife Shanti Devi came back in his life. This is real story behind padman film and Akshay Kumar played the main role.

Times magazine placed him in the list of 100 most influential people in the world in 2014.
He was awarded PADMA SHRI by Indian government in 2016.
