Rajkumar Rao is one such actor who has made a name for himself in Bollywood. Neither he has any family nor any godfather in Bollywood. He has his own talent. He received the National Film Award for Best Actor for his film Shahid.
Many times it happens that the actor and actress have to change their name after coming to the film industry, for some reason. The same happened with Rajkumar. When Rajkumar came to the film industry, his name was not Rajkumar Rao. He comes from the Yadav family so his name was Rajkumar Yadav. He did not change his name but he had to change his surname to Yadav.
Why Rajkumar Rao changed his name?
Recently in Arbaaz Khan’s chat show Pinch Season 2, Rajkumar has spoken openly about his name. He said that there are many people named Rajkumar in the Bollywood industry like Rajkumar Hirani, Rajkumar Santoshi, Rajkumar Gupta. He did not use his surname in the films he had done in the beginning. That’s why whenever he used to get calls, people used to request him to assist them. Then he used to think that he is an actor, then why do they want to assist him. Slowly he came to know that due to the similar names of the directors, people got confused.
Rajkumar is from Haryana. There Yadav is also called Rao, so Rajkumar changed his surname from Yadav to Rao. And thus he became famous by the name of a unique name Rajkumar Rao.
