Lamborghini Urus launched in India.

Lamborghini the Italian manufacturer of supercars has launched its new car today, Lamborghini Urus sport utility vehicle (SUV) in India. It comes with a price tag of ₹3 crore.

Lamborghini Urus is a 4.0-litre V8 engine that comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The twin-turbo motor delivers 650PS of power and a peak torque of 850Nm which is distributed among all the four wheels via a permanent four-wheel-drive.

The engine is tuned to produce 641 bhp and 850 Nm of peak torque, while the performance SUV can hit the 0-100 kmph in 3.6 seconds and 200 kmph in 12.8 seconds. The Urus has a top speed of 305 kmph, which is not bad at all for something that weighs 2.2 tonnes. It is also the fastest SUV in the world.

It comes with six drive modes including the new Neve (snow), Terra (off-road) and Sabbia (sand) along with the usual Strada, Sport and Corsa, and a fully customisable mode – Ego.

The Lamborghini Urus adds an ultra-luxury touch with red leather upholstery and the  use of carbon fibre on the dashboard and the centre console which comes loaded with techs. The front seats are 12-way adjustable and it offers an ample boot space.

Lamborghini price of Rs3 crore (ex-showroom), the Urus competes with the Bentley Flying Spur and a few Maserati models, including the Quattroporte.

India is a strategic market for Lamborghini in terms of future growth volumes, said Sharad Agarwal, head, Lamborghini India. “India is one of the first few markets in the world where the Urus is being launched”, he added.

While all the allotted units of the Lamborghini Urus to the country have been sold out with advanced bookings.
