Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2021

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY, 2021) is a national program organized by the Government of India. KVPY is a fellowship.  It is provided to the students of the Department of Science and Technology of the country for their further studies and career. This assistance is given both monthly and annually.

Main Objective

The main objective of this scheme is to promote the development of scientific intelligence in the students. Also, identifying talented students and encouraging them to move ahead financially and mentally.

History

 “Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana” was started by the Government of India in 1999. The Department of Science and Technology, the nodal agency of the Government has entrusted the overall responsibility for organizing and running the KVPY Program to the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Apart from this, a Management team, core committee, and a National Advisory Committee (NAC) have also been set up to oversee its day-to-day program. 

Eligibility

Students who have passed the class 10th exam with 75% marks and can apply.  But they should be secure at least 60%(50% for SC/ST/PWD) in  12th can apply for this program to get higher education in graduation and Post graduation (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.).

Accordingly, the KVPY Fellowship Award 2021 notification, the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Fellowship award is to be given in three streams – Stream SA, Stream SX, and Stream SB. Amount of fellowship

Under this scheme, the Indian Department of Science and Technology will give Rs. 5000 to the student every month till the completion of graduation and Rs. 20,000 as an annual contingency grant.  Also, for post-graduation courses, this amount has been kept for each Month Rs. 7000 and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 28000.

Exam

In this examination, students are selected through written examination and interview.  It is performed in both Hindi and English languages ​​at various centers in the country

The application process for KVPY 2021 has already started on 8th July. The last date to apply is August 25th.
