Most of the children have a ‘hole in heart’ condition, which in medical terms is called Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Khaama press reported Afghanistan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) as saying on Sunday.India will spend over $3,000 on each heart patient in the coming five years. If the expenses exceed $4,000, the remaining balance would be paid by the ARCS.
Praising India’s efforts for helping Afghan children, ARCS spokesperson said, “India has always assisted ARCS.” , according to a report published on Business Standard
Just last month, India’s India’s major reconstruction project in Afghanistan, the Salma Dam, began to near completion. India began the reconstruction work of the dam in the war-torn country in 2006. Thousands of Afghan residents expressed their gratitude by visiting the Indian consulate.

They expressed their gratitude for building the Salma Dam, which was reconstructed by India. The aid for the project was around $300 million.
The construction work is almost complete and water is being filled now. The Dam is expected to produce 42MW of electricity and will water nearly 80,000 hectares of farmland.
The project was started back in 2006, in the western Afghanistan in Herat province. Thousands of Afghan residents expressed their gratitude by visiting the Indian consulate in Herat and thanking the officials from India. This gesture will surely strengthen the bond between two nations and we hope to see more collaboration in future endeavors.
