What Company said about chat backups?
According to the company, when you encrypt your chat, even WhatsApp or Facebook cannot read it. Recently, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has told about this through a post on one of his pages. Through the post, he announced the rollout of end-to-end encryption for cloud backup. While making this feature available to the users of WhatsApp, it has been said that while end-to-end encrypted messages you send and receive are archived on your device, many people also want a way to back up their chats if they lose their phone. With this kind of problem in mind, starting today, we’re providing an additional, optional layer of security with end-to-end encryption to backups stored on Google Drive or iCloud.
No other global messaging service offers this level of security for its users’ messages, photos media, voice messages, video calls, and chat backups at such a large scale. Apart from this, the company has also said that users can now protect their end-to-end encrypted backups with a password of their choice or with 64-digit encryption keys. Only the users will know about this password, and the company will also not have the right to know this password. Neither WhatsApp nor the users’ backup service provider will read and unlock this backup.
